Start with dry placement and dry contents
Keep runoff away, repair leaks and avoid loading wet pallets, lumber or equipment when possible. Elevate stored goods so air can move and small water problems are visible.
Ventilate without inviting weather
Properly placed weather-protected vents can reduce trapped moisture. The amount and type should fit the climate, security needs and stored product.
Insulate as a system
Insulation can reduce interior surface temperature swings, but poor vapor control can hide moisture behind finishes. Review insulation methods before building out walls.
Coordinate moisture control with ventilation and, where appropriate, container insulation.
