Empty, loaded and maximum weights are different
A marked maximum gross rating is not the weight of the empty unit and is not permission for any truck to move it fully loaded. Added doors, lining, machinery or built-out rooms also change weight. Start with the correct container specification and disclose modifications and contents before arranging transport.
Handling needs approved equipment and methods
A crane, forklift or loader must suit the weight, geometry, reach, lifting points and ground conditions. A machine’s nominal capacity alone does not establish a safe container lift. Let the qualified handling contractor select equipment and rigging. Discuss loaded-container relocation separately from ordinary empty delivery.
Supports carry the load into the property
The placed unit and contents must bear on suitable supports and ground. Uneven settlement can rack doors and damage drainage or working access. Concentrated floor loads also deserve review. Use the support planning answer, then include unit weight, intended contents and unloading method in a purchase or rental inquiry. Avoid improvising with equipment not selected for the lift.
- Verified tare and current total weight
- Contents and modification disclosure
- Qualified lifting and transport plan
- Supports, soil and concentrated loads
- Do not load equipment into a rental assuming the pickup truck can carry it later. Agree on the empty-return requirement and any loaded-move plan before the contents are placed inside. Heavy material should also be distributed according to the unit and support design.
