Verify the business independently
Check the business identity, contact information and trading history using sources beyond the advertisement. Contact the company through an independently located channel. A copied logo or real yard photograph can appear in an unrelated listing. Ask who invoices the sale and who handles delivery.
Get a specific equipment agreement
The contract should state size, condition, door configuration, delivery address, included work and how unacceptable condition is handled. Obtain current photographs or inspect the equipment where possible. If the agreement allows a comparable unit rather than a particular serial-numbered box, make the condition standard explicit. Use the inspection guide and grade definitions.
Resolve payment and delivery before committing
Understand deposit, balance, cancellation and refund terms. Independently confirm any changed payment instructions, and avoid sending funds to an unexplained third party. Payment protections differ by method; do not assume reimbursement is available. A sound shipping container purchase plan includes a written delivered scope and verified access. Compare suppliers on clarity, equipment and accountability—not a price that only works if every unconfirmed promise proves true.
- Independent seller identity check
- Written size and condition standard
- Current equipment evidence
- Verified payment and delivery terms
- Save the listing, correspondence, accepted specification, invoice and delivery record. Those records help resolve a legitimate condition dispute and preserve evidence if the transaction goes wrong. Avoid allowing a verbal substitution or rushed payment request to replace the written agreement you originally checked.
