Walk the structure
Look along roof rails, side rails, corner posts and end frames for heavy distortion, failed welds or repairs that do not appear sound. Check the roof for deep low spots that can hold water.
Test weather resistance and doors
Close the doors and look for daylight through the roof, walls and seals. Operate locking rods, handles and cams without forcing them, and confirm the gasket seats.
Inspect the floor for the intended contents
Look for soft areas, holes, contamination, strong odors and repairs. Ask about floor history when storing food-adjacent products, furnishings or other odor-sensitive material.
Confirm the advertised condition terminology in the grade guide, then compare the complete shipping container purchase scope.
